Getting Started

1. What to do I get access to?


• Archived copies of complete shows!
  
  • Listen to the entire show on-line!
  • Each show is edited for commercials.
  • Enjoy individual segments, exactly as they air in Dallas.
  • Listen anytime you want - anywhere you want.
  • Show Teaser, which runs around 3:00, is included in the archives.
  • Each show is archived for at least TWO full weeks.
  • XML feed of the archives, for use with your favorite portable music player. (This is not a PodCast standard feed! This feature is UNSUPPORTED.)
  • THIS IS NOT A LIVE STREAM!
  • SPECIAL WEB CAST STREAMS DO NOT APPEAR ON THIS SITE.

• The "Week in Review" - An audio review of a weeks worth of shows. This is posted 2-3 weeks after the end of the week.  
• Premium Audio Vault - This feature is less updated than when the site first started. The week in review is the current focus of the web site. However, older clips are still available, and new clips are added when possible. (The PAVis currently offline. There is no ETA for it's return.)
If you do not see it listed above, you should not assume that you will have access to it. Period. End of story. Not here? No access.


2. What format are the show archives posted in?

The shows are posted in WMA format. As of 06/01/2007 files are posted at a bitrate of 48kbps. (48kbps, 32kHz, stereo CBR for you technical people.) This format provides the best audio quality while keep the size of the files limited to a reasonable size. If you plan to put the show on your iPod® device, you will have to convert these files. A daily ZIP file is available as well. This file contains each segment of that days show. If you choose to download this version, be sure that you verify the contents of the ZIP file. I download the show via the web site each day (at another location) so I know these files work. Some people have said weeks later that the ZIP file was corrupt. I can not send you another copy of the show once it's been removed from the web site.



3. I don't like PayPal, how else can I pay?

At this time, PayPal is the only method of payment that I accept. Why? Well, it's free for me to run, except for a small fee that is deducted from the cost of each transaction. There are other services out there, however, they charge a monthly fee in order for people to use them, on top of the transaction fee. In short, it doesn't make sense for me to sign up for them.


4. How does all this work, anyway?

You are buying a subscription to the RussMartin.INFO Premium service, for a time period that you choose. At the end of that time period, you are responsible for extending your membership if you wish to continue. For example: If you buy a membership for one month, at the 5th of the month, then on the 5th of the next month, your subscription would expire. At anytime, before or after your subscription expires, you can buy more time. This allows you to buy access as you have the money. You are never forced to renew your membership. You choose when and how long you want to sign up for. Please keep in mind there are no refunds provided. No one is forcing you to sign up for this. Plus you know what you get going into it. If it's not up there, it's not on the premium service.


5. I'm broke and can't afford to pay!

Sorry! If you just missed a few days, and just HAVE to catch up, you can spend $7.00 and get access to the site for one month. $7.00 for complete access is not a bad deal. Consider what DallasNews.com charges simply to read old articles, then consider everything else that you get access to.


6. Surely there is a way to get free access?

I'm always looking for people who are dedicated to the show. You provide me a daily listing of notes on the show, and I will provide you with free access. This is not something you can do one or two days a week. You must be able to provide daily notes about the show. (It can be one or two days later) Please use the contact Don Sierra link to apply.

1. How do I sign up?

New Users: Visit the RussMartin.INFO Premium Signup page, located at http://www.russmartin.info/amember/signup.php.

• To pay for ONE MONTH: Select "One Time Payment" and "PayPal One Time Payment".
• To be charged each month: Select "Recurring Billing" and "PayPal Recurring Billing".
After you fill in your name, e-mail address, user name and password, and e-mail will be sent to you. DO NOT DO ANYTHING UNTIL YOU GET THIS CONFIRMATION E-MAIL. When you get the e-mail, follow the link to PayPal. This will let you pay for the membership to the site.
After you pay for the subscription, visit the Member Information page.

Current Subscribers: Visit the Member Information page.
Look for the "Add/Renew Subscription" drop down boxes.
To renew for one month, select the "One Time Payment" and "PayPal One Time Payment".
To renew, and never have to do this again, select the "Recurring Billing" and "PayPal Recurring Billing."
You will be taken directly to PayPal to pay for the product that you have selected.


2. I didn't get the confirmation e-mail. What do I do?

There are times when some Internet providers will block the confirmation e-mail that is sent to you. In those cases, you will need to manually complete the payment process. If after 4 hours you have not received a confirmation email, please use this link, and be sure to follow the directions!


3. When Does My Subscription Expire?

Visit the Member Information page. It will tell you when your subscription expires.


4. How Do I Cancel?
   
   If you made a "One Time Payment" you need to do nothing in order to cancel. Once your subscription expires, you will not be charged again.
   
   If you chose the "Recurring Billing" option, you will need to view your Member Information page. There you will have a link to PayPal which will cancel your billing to RussMartin.INFO. The Member Information page can be found under the Premium drop-down menu. (Or use the Site Map to your right.) You may also cancel your subscription by logging into your PayPal account.
   
5. I still can't get in -- I'm going to file a complaint! 
   
   Before you do that, did you email me first? Did you give me at least 24 hours to respond? If not, cool your heals and email me, would you? I don't appreciate PayPal complaints filed against me. To date not one PayPal complaint has been substantiated. Each case turned out to be a problem with the registration system that I was unaware of. A simple email could have fixed the problem each time. I'm not in this to screw you over. I'd have a higher power to answer to if I were doing that ... and his name is in the domain!

1. I lost my password! Help!

To retrieve your password, simply follow this link. This link also appears at the top of the home page. (When you are not signed in. If you are signed in, then you don't need your password, do you?) After you follow the link, you will be prompted to enter the e-mail address with which you registered.


2. How do I change my email address?

In order to change the e-mail address on file here at RussMartin.INFO, you will need to send me an e-mail with the new information.


3. Can I share my RussMartin.INFO password? What happens if I do?

No. Accounts are tracked by a password sharing system that automatically locks accounts of those suspected of sharing passwords. Users that login using multiple computers at the same time, or share login user names and passwords with other users will have their accounts locked out, and possibly terminated. There are no refunds. Do not share user names and passwords.
