I don't understand some people. Really don't. Alas, another email from someone who doesn't like the show, but obviously listened today.

Here's an idea. Why don't you email Russ yourself?

Oh, spell check and capitalization come in handy. Try using them sometime.

Bill Garza - Continued

Thursday, 11 November 2010 21:35

So, remember back in July when some guy named Bill Garza sent me an email? (If not, it's here on the site as well.)

Well, in that thread he sent me an email and said, "I will not tune in again!"

So, imagine my surprise when I get another email from him. This time...

Russ
It is - JUST A DOG-
you have to be the biggest homo ever

Congratulations, Bill. 6+ years of maintaining the site, and you are the first person on the email block list.

Seriously, people. If you don't like the show, then don't freaking listen. No one is forcing you to do so. Sheesh.

DPD Letter to the Show

Tuesday, 11 July 2006 15:20 Last Updated on Wednesday, 15 September 2010 19:52
On 02/19/2004, DPD Officer "Ron" sent a letter to Russ, which he then read on the air. The text of the letter is below.

Dear Russ,

I wanted to take a quick second to thank you for the support that you are giving to Dallas Officers like myself. This latest incident with the Mayor shows how little support we as officers get from the city. You have become the voice of police officers everywhere, and there is no way to thank you for that.

Needless to say all of us are embarrassed to see that the private sector has to come in and help us when our own city will not. All of the officers are so grateful to the Schepps company for stepping in and helping out a fellow officer. Myself along with every other officer.

I now feel as if this city does not respect its police officers, and now it is beginning to take shape in a very real way.

As hard as it was to listen to Officer Coffey's interview and to know that the city is hanging him out to dry, all of us listening were in tears from laughing so hard when you stated, "that's why I earn vacation time, is to go to Jamaica and have a shotgun stuck in my puss." That was CLASSIC. What an excellent way to show how absurd this new 13 week policy is.

Just in case you might be thinking about running for Mayor, which I think would be great. Yes you would get the support from the police and fire groups.

Mr. Martin, thank you for the support. It's from individuals like yourself that make this career seem meaningful, no matter what is going on.

Also, as I am sure you are aware, no matter how badly this city treats its officers, or how many times Dallas turns its back on us, we will continue to show up to work each and every day.
We will continue to protect those who that cant protect themselves.
We will continue to help those that need help.
That's the job I've taken.
That's the job that I've sworn to do.
I am a police officer.

Sincerely,

Ron
DPD

To party like Clo

Monday, 09 August 2010 19:54 Last Updated on Wednesday, 11 August 2010 21:53

(Written by one of our Guest Contributors)

This article started with the hopes that I could teach the world how to drink, and party, like Clo. After a bit of research that I have painstakingly taken on your behalf, I have consumed copious amounts of alcohol. After emptying my liquor cabinet many times and getting on a first name basis with the staff at three bars, and two liquor stores, (okay and a few cab drivers and cops,)  I have come to the conclusion that our buddy Clo must have two or more livers, is not human, or is the embodiment of John Blutarsky.

So we will just resort to telling you some things we have learned from Clo. To the Point...

  • It is not Gay if you are at the lake and have to share the shower with a past or present member of the Dallas Cowboys. That is unless it is Rafael Septien.
  • Painting your toe nails is cool as it will help you pick up chicks.
  • If you end up at a party with girls from Southwest Airlines and you end up in a dress make sure you take a dump in the yard and have a cat to try to cover it, just in case your buddies find out you were in a dress, as this will distract them.
  • If you get drunk and have a sudden urge to go to the lake that is two miles away expect your buddies to try and stop you. Throwing beer bottles and your sandals will discourage them in the end. Just keep in mind (when you sober up) they tried to help you.
  • Learning to play the Star-Spangled Banner like Hendrix always looks cool, but even cooler if done on a boat after a few beers.
  • It may be a good idea to have a GPS locator placed on you when you go out drinking in the big easy during Mardi Gras, just so your friends can find you.
  • If you pass out in your hotel in Mexico, in front of your room door, with your key in hand, no one will try and wake you, move you, or rob you.
  • Painting with dog doo is fun.

I do hope you have enjoyed this I will add more over time, as I am sure Clo is far from finished teaching us the fine ways of drunkenness. So go out drink, have fun and don’t be a dick.

Bill Garza Email

Well, it took longer than I thought it would, but we have our first hater. Normally I'd delete out the email address of the emailer, but not anymore.

Read from the bottom up.

Enjoy!

[PS. It really does take a lot to annoy me these days. However, for someone be completely ignorant of the risk Public Safety encounter every day is just mind blowing. Add to that the complete inability of this person to visit the KEGL website and contact them .. well, this one had to go online. I don't care if you don't like the show. Just don't listen. There is a sh!t ton of stuff out there I don't like. You know I what I do? I simply don't watch/listen to it. Plain and simple.]

With proceeds going to Police and Fire personnel who give their life in the line of duty. A worthy cause if there ever was one.

So ... deal with it, okay? If you don't like it, don't listen. No one is dragging your butt to the radio and making you listen, right?

Don on Twitter?

After many weeks of frustration, I gave up on the live Twitter feed here on the side of the site. Some days it would work, others it wouldn't.

So, if you want to follow me on Twitter, you'll have to do so by following me @donsierra.
