Who is Cody?

Sunday, 09 July 2006 14:37 Last Updated on Tuesday, 19 August 2008 21:15

Cody is a little boy with partial paralysis. His parents wrote in to Russ asking for money from the foundation for a bike for this kid. Had Russ not thought it was a hose (See: Hosejob) he wouldn't have given the letter a second look. It turns out, that there is a company that makes bicycles for crippled children that are pedaled with the hands, to the tune of $3,300.00.

Long story short, Russ bought the kid a bike with money from the foundation which had been earmarked for Cody by the listeners, with the difference being made up by Russ himself, and delivered by Russ and the guys, featuring none other than Al Brumley (God rest his soul) dressed as Santa. Enter, Kidd Kraddick, never wanting to be upstaged, latches on to Cody with both slimy meathooks and gives him a trip to Disneyland. Granted, the parents wrote in and asked, but isn't it funny that out of all the special needs children in all of the listenership that he should choose the very child that Russ helped out? It seems that Cody's mom and dad have asked for a few things on Cody's behalf, up to and including using him to get out of a ticket as admitted by Cody's own father. Russ has repeatedly threatened to take the bike back, but we all know he won't.

You can hardly fault Cody's parents for trying to give him a better life, but Russ thinks they should at least make a pretense of some loyalty.

Don on Twitter?

After many weeks of frustration, I gave up on the live Twitter feed here on the side of the site. Some days it would work, others it wouldn't.

So, if you want to follow me on Twitter, you'll have to do so by following me @donsierra.
