Calvert became a part of the show in mid-August, 2005. One day, Russ and the gang were looking at people who had been arrested, and their pictures then posted on the DallasPolice.net web site. They couldn't help but laugh when they got to Calvert's picture. After a few weeks of trying, they got him to call into the show. He explained his story, and Everett, who was there for a change, decided he would help, pro bono. As of this writing, Everett reports that they have done some legal maneuvering, and Calvert is out of immediate danger. Calvert also authorized his likeness to be used on a T-Shirt, the proceeds of which will go back into the foundation.
In June of 2006, Everett called the show to say that he was able to clear Calvert of all charges.
